Walling and Coping

Boundary walls in many of the North Wales regions were traditionally built using local materials . SLATE, being a sedimentary rock, is a versatile material to work with as it can be split along the grain and ‘pillared’ at right angles with a cold chisel.

Note the 'Cock and Hen' copings.

Typical example of the use of slate to enhance the corner section of a rendered building as well as a small entrance wall.
